Goblin Archers; Bones 4 Figures

This past week I painted the 4 Goblin Archers from the Bones 4 Core 24 Bonus Goblins set.
I prepped the figures in the usual way, soaking the parts in a dish of water with a couple drops of dish-soap added, then giving them a light scrub with a soft toothbrush, and then rinsing and drying them. I then glued them to 1" black-primed fender washers with Aleene's Tacky glue.  I then glued the washers onto a tongue depressor with a couple drops of Elmer's white glue.
You might notice that at some point I had a little green stuff left over and had constructed a small stone wall on the washer of the goblin second from the left before spraying it.
I began by painting all their exposed skin areas with Citadel Contrast "Snakebite Leather".   I then painted the kilts on the left two with Citadel Contrast "Creed Camo", and the kilts on the right two with Pathfinder MSP  "Urgathea Red".  I also painted  the hats on the first and last one with  Americana "Antique Gold"(not metallic) and the hats of the center two with Apple Barrel "Apple Blue Spruce."
I then painted their boots with Citadel Contrast "Wyldwood", and then did their quivers and wrist guards with Americana "Charcoal Grey".  After that, I painted their bows with Crafter's Edition "Spice Brown", and then the arrow shafts with Citadel Contrast "Black Templar".  I let that dry a while, and then painted the fletchings, and the stone wall on the base of the one second from the left,  using Citadel Contrast "Basilicanum Grey".
Next, I applied some Citadel "Agrax Earthshade" wash on the quivers, bows, and hats. When that was dry, I painted their eyes (using Americana "Antique White" for the whites), and then did some extra highlighting on their skin using some Apple Barrel "Maple Sugar Tan" mixed with some Accent "Golden Oxide".  After that I highlighted the yellow hats with Americana "Primary Yellow", and the green hats with Americana "Avocado"
I then highlighted the red kilts with a little Ceramcoat "Opaque Red" and highlighted the quivers and wrist guards with some Americana "Mississippi Mud".  After that I painted the tips of the bows with Folk Art Metallics "Gunmetal Grey" and  I painted the bases with Americana "Mississippi Mud".
I let all the figures dry overnight and the next day I gave them a coat of Americana "DuraClear Matte" varnish.    Then, when  the varnish was dry, I used some white glue to flock the bases.  Another overnight dry, and I sprayed them with Testor's "Dullcote".

Here they are formed up in a unit with my Goblin Archers from past Kickstarters.
Being Goblin, I didn't put a lot of effort in to these guys, and I think they turned out okay.  When grouped with their fellow archers I think the unit looks good.  I was very pleased  that the "Snakebite Leather" Contrast paint was such a good match for the skin color I had used in the past; it made painting these guys much easier.

Aeris, Female Elf Ranger (Painted as Dark Elf): Bones 3 Figure

This week I painted Aeris, Female Elf Ranger, from the Bones 3 Core Set.  Like last week's Halfling Cleric, I selected this figure to fill a gap in the figures I need for a game I'm going to be running at the upcoming Fall-In gaming convention.  What I was missing was a Drow/Dark Elf Ranger, and this figure was the only Elf archer I still had in my horde of unpainted Bones, so it got nominated to fill the role.

While a beautiful figure, I was a bit disappointed in it as an Archer or a Ranger because it seemed to be missing any obvious quiver or hand to hand weapon (not even a dagger). I was able to solve these problems with some extra bits from set of hard plastic plastic War of the Roses troops I had recently been working on.
I prepped the figure in the usual way; soaking it in a dish of water with a couple drops of dish-soap added, then giving it a light scrub with a soft toothbrush, and then rinsing and drying it.  I then transplanted her right arm with one carrying a set of arrows, and added a sword at her hip on the left side.   With the new additions in place, I glued the figure to a black-primed 1" fender washer with Aleene's Tacky glue, and then placed the figure in my painting grip.
I began by giving the figure a wash with Reaper MSP "Grey Liner"; and when that was dry, I painted her entire body with Ceramcoat "Black".    I then drybrushed her bodice armor and boots with Citadel "The Fang", followed by a lighter drybrush of Folk Art "Cloudy Day".  I then highlighted her pants and over-shirt with Apple Barrel "Apple Blue Spruce", followed with lighter highlights using Folk Art "Hunter Green".
Next, I painted her under-sleeves with Crafter's Acrylic "Purple Passion", and the lining of her cape with Crafter's Acrylic "African Violet".  I then painted the outer layer of her cape with Americana "Zinc".
I then painted her bow with Crafter's Acrylic "Navy Blue", and the sword scabbard with the "African Violet".  Next, I painted her hair with Crafter's Acrylic "Storm Cloud Grey" and the arrow shafts with Ceramcoat "Black Cherry".   After that, I painted the lining of the cape with Folk Art Color Shift "Purple Flash", and then the trim of the cape with the "Black".
Next, I painted the scabbard again with Folk Art "Metallic Amethyst", and the bindings on the bow with Folk Art "Dapple Grey".  I then let everything dry for a while, and afterwards gave the entire figure a wash with Citadel "Nuln Oil" wash.  When the wash was dry, I painted her eyes, and then highlighted her face and hands with with a mix of Apple Barrel "Apple Black Green", and Americana "Avocado".
I then highlighted her hair with Americana "Dove Grey", followed by some Americana "Snow White". I added some eyebrows too.  I decided that the highlights on the green weren't bright enough, so I added additional highlights to her pants and over-shirt with some Folk Art Artists Pigment "Hauser Green Medium".   After that I highlighted the under-sleeves with some Apple Barrel "Apple Lavender" mixed with a little of the base "Purple Passion".
Next, I highlighted the outer cape with Americana "Grey Sky mixed with a little of the base "Zinc", and then highlighted the cape's fur trim with Americana "Neutral Grey".   I then highlighted the cape's lining using the base "Purple Flash" mixed with a little Ceramcoat "Metallic Silver", and the scabbard using the base "metallic Amethyst" mixed with a little of the "Metallic Silver".  After that, I highlighted the bow with some of the base "Navy Blue" mixed with a little Ceramcoat "Denim Blue", and I highlighted the bindings on the bow with Folk Art "Grey Green".   I wrapped up the painting on the figure by highlighting the arrow shafts with Ceramcoat "Opaque Red", and  highlighting the fletchings with  Folk Art "Medium Grey". I painted the points of the arrows, the metal parts of the sword grip, and the cape's clasp, all with Folk Art Metallics "Gunmetal Grey", and then highlighted them with a little of"Metallic Silver".
Lastly, I painted the figure's integral base with the "Bittersweet Chocolate".
I let the figure dry overnight and the next day I gave it a coat of Americana "DuraClear Matte" varnish.    Then, when  the varnish was dry, I used some white glue to flock the base.  Another overnight dry, and I sprayed it with Testor's Dullcote".

I'm really happy with how she came out, and I think the conversion to a Dark Elf works just fine.  I also think the added arrows and sword  help the figure a bit too.

Lindir, Elf Archer

I'm posting a bonus figure this week as I rush to get my crew completed for the inaugural game of this year's Ghost Archipelago campaign, which takes place this Saturday.  I painted Lindir, Elf Archer, to be the second Archer in my Ghost Archipelago Warband.  I don't think he was ever part of one of the Bones Kickstarters, so I ordered him directly from Reaper.
I prepped the figure in the usual way; soaking it in a dish of water with a couple drops of dish-soap added, then giving it a light scrub with a soft toothbrush, and then rinsing and drying it.    I then glued the figure to a black-primed 1" fender washer with Aleene's Tacky glue, and then glued the washer-mounted figure to a tongue depressor with a couple drops of the Elmer's glue.
I began by giving the figure a wash with thinned Reaper MSP "Brown Liner".   I then painted the face and hands with Crafter's Acrylic "Flesh". Next, I painted his tunic with Folk Art "Teddy BEar Brown", and his pants with Accent "Golden Harvest".  After that, I painted the little diamond of under shirt, that shows at the front of the tunic, with Americana "Bleached Sand".
I then painted his boots, wrist guards, and shoulder armor with Crafter's Acrylic "Cinnamon Brown", and the decorations on his tunic and his sash with Crafter's Acrylic "Holiday Green". After that, I painted his bow with Folk Art "Grey Green", his scabbard and quiver with Vallejo "Brown Violet", and his hair with Americana "Antique White".
Next, I painted the decroations on his quiver and scabbard, as well as the fittings on his bow, with Ceramcoat "Raw Sienna".  I then painted the fletchings with Americana "Dove Grey", and the grip on the sword and bow with Americana "Mississippi Mud".  I also painted a little area between the sword grip and the end, and the grip and the sheath, with Americana Zinc.
When everything had a while to dry, I gave the entire figure a wash with Citadel "Agrax Earthshade" wash.  When the wash was dry, I painted his eyes; and then highlighted his face and hands with the base "Flesh", and then a little of the "Flesh" mixed with a bit of White.  After that, I highlighted his hair with Apple Barrel "Lemon Chiffon", and then a little of the "Bleached Sand".
Next, I highlighted his tunic with Reaper MSP "Tanned Shadow", and then highlighted his pants with a mix of the base "Golden Harvest" and some Americana "Buttermilk".  I then did the highlights on his boots, wrist guards, and shoulder armor, with Crafter's Edition "Spice Brown".  After that, I highlighted the trim on his tunic with a mix of the base "Holiday Green" with some Crafter's Acrylic "Wild Green", and did the highlights on little diamond of under shirt using Crafter's Acrylic "Light Antique White".  I next did highlights on his bow with the base "Grey Green", and then highlighted his scabbard and quiver with Americana "Avocado".  I highlighted the fletchings with White, and the grips on the sword and bow with Americana "Khaki Tan".  I then turned to all the metal parts, highlighting them with Ceramcoat "14K Gold".
Lastly, I painted the base with Americana "Raw Umber".
I let the figure dry overnight and the next day I gave it a coat of Americana "DuraClear Matte" varnish.    Then, when  the varnish was dry, I used some white glue to flock the base.  Another overnight dry, and I sprayed it with Testor's Dullcote".

I'm really happy how this figure turned out.  I like it's elegant simplicity; just how I would imagine a down-to-business Elf archer.

Galadanoth, Elf Sniper: Bones 3 Figure

This past week I painted the Galadanoth, Elf Sniper figure from the Bones 3 Core Set, to use as an Archer for my new Ghost Archipelago crew I'm currently assembling.
A little while ago I had converted this figure to hold one of the clear weapons from the new clear weapons sprues that I also got in the Bones 3 Kickstarter.  You can see the conversion article here:  Weapon Conversions.  While I don't particularly need the figure to be wielding a magic bow at this point, I saw no reason to be switching the figure back to a standard bow.  Who knows, maybe I'll find a magic bow for him to use on one of our Ghost Archipelago expeditions.
I couldn't remember if I already washed the figure before I did the conversion, but assumed I did.  So, I went ahead and glued the figure to a white-primed 1.5" fender washer with Aleene's Tacky glue, and then glued the washer-mounted figure to a tongue depressor with a couple drops of the Elmer's glue.
I began by giving the entire model a wash with heavily thinned Reaper MSP "Brown Liner"; and when that was dry, painting his loin armor Black.  I then painted his face, ears, and hands with Crafter's Acrylic "Flesh".  When the Black was dry, I went back and drybrushed the armor scales with  Folk Art Metallics "Gunmetal Grey".  I then passed over them with a lighter drybrush of Ceramcoat "Metallic Silver"
Next, I painted his leggings with Americana "Avocado", and then painted his chest and shoulder armor, wrist guards, knee guards, shoes, and the border around his loin armor, all with Citadel 'Snakebite Leather".  After that, I painted his shirt with Crafter's Acrylic "Storm Cloud Grey", and then did his cape with Reaper MSP, "Christmas Wreath".
I then painted the body of his quiver with Ceramcoat "Territorial Beige", and did the top and bottom edges with Anita's "Burnt Sienna".  I also used the "Burnt Sienna" to paint his dagger sheath, and his belt.  Next, I painted the  pole above the quiver with Folk Art "Teddy Bear Brown", and then metal point at the end with Accent "Mustard Seed".  after that, I painted the fletchings with Folk Art "Barnyard Red", and then went back and painted the metal point n the pole above the quiver with Ceramcoat "Bronze".
I painted his hair with Americana "Bittersweet Chocolate", and then let the figure dry for a while.  When it was good and dry, I gave the entire a figure, except the loin armor, a wash with Agrax Earthshade" wash.   When the wash was dry, I painted his eyes, and then highlighted his skin with a mix of the base "Flash" and White.  I also highlighted the hair with Crafter's Edition "Spice Brown", and Americana "Sable Brown".
Next, I highlighted his leggings with a mix of the original "Avocado" and some lighter Americana "Jade Green". I highlighted his shirt after that with some Americana "Dove Grey", and then did his chest and shoulder armor, wrist guards, knee guards, shoes, and the border around his loin armor with the "Mustard Seed".  I then did highlights on his cape with Folk Art "Hauser Green Medium".  After that, I highlighted the body of the quiver with Americana "Khaki Tan", the top and bottom of the quiver with Crafter's Acrylic "Orange Spice", and the fletchings with Reaper MSP "Holly Berry". I finished up the highlighting by painting the tip of the pole above the quiver with a little Ceramcoat 14K Gold".
I then painted the figures base and the washer with Ceramcoat "Walnut". I let the figure dry overnight and the next day I gave it a coat of Americana "DuraClear Matte" varnish.    Then, when  the varnish was dry, I used some white glue to flock the base.  Another overnight dry, and I sprayed it with Testor's Dullcote".

I'm happy with how the figure turned out.  It's not the greatest casting, with some smooshiness in his face and a big mold line running directly across his chest and thigh, but for a gaming figure it's not too bad.  The bow fogged a little when I sprayed it, and I could clear it up with a coat of gloss varnish, but I think I like how it looks better this way.

Undead Elf Archer & Conversion: Bones 3 Figure

This past week I painted a pair of the Undead Elf Archers from the Bones 3 Undying Lords add-on set.  I bought two sets of the Undying Lords so I could include more than just one example of other races in my undead forces.  I also planned to convert one of each race of figure so the pair didn't look like identical twins.
I prepped the figures in the usual way; soaking them in a dish of water with a couple drops of dish-soap added, then giving them a light scrub with a soft toothbrush, and then rinsing and drying them.  I cut away the bow and quiver on one of the figures, and gave him a shield and sword instead.  I then glued the figures to black-primed 1" fender washer with Aleene's Tacky glue, and then glued the washer-mounted figures to a tongue depressor with a couple drops of the Elmer's glue.
I began by painting the scale mail skirts, and all the skeleton parts with Black.  I then drybrushed the skirts with Accent "Golden Oxide".  After that I drybrushed the exposed skeleton bits with first Americana "Antique White", and then Crafter's Acrylic "Light Antique White".
Next, I painted the little aprons hanging down under their mail skirts, with Americana "Terra Cotta", and then painted their robes with  Americana "Avocado".  I then painted their capes with Americana "Forest Green", and their collars with Accent "Mustard Seed".  I also used the "Mustard Seed" to paint a design around the hem of their robes.
I then painted the hair of the lefthand one with the "Mustard Seed", and the hair of the righthand one with Folk Art "Teddy Bear Brown".  After that, I painted their boots and all their belts, scabbards, and the quiver with Nicole's "Brown"; and followed with painting their gauntlets and wrist guards with Apple Barrel "Apple Maple Syrup".
Next, I painted the bow with Folk Art Porcelain White", and the grips on the swords, as well as the back of the shield, with Americana "Bittersweet Chocolate".  I painted the face of the shield with Folk Art "Hunter Green", and then did a design on it with Americana "Margarita".  I painted the arrow shafts and the string on the bow ends, with Folk Art "Butter Pecan", and the fletchings, as well as the blade of the sword, with Crafter's Acrylic "Storm Cloud Grey".  I painted the metalwork on the hilt with the "Mustard Seed".  I then went back and painted the sword blade, and the hub and rim of the shield with  Accent "Princely Pewter".  After that, I painted the metal on the hilt with the "Bronze".
Then when everything was dry, I gave both figures a complete wash with Citadel "Agrax Earthshade" wash using a wet brush.
When the wash was dry, I highlighted their bones with the "Light Antique White".   I then highlighted their robes with Americana "Jade Green", and their capes with Crafter's Acrylic "Holiday Green".  I then highlighted their belts, quiver, scabbards and shoes, with Ceramcoat "Territorial Beige", and then highlighted the apron hanging under their armored skirt with Reaper MSP "Pumpkin Orange"  Next, I highlighted the hair on the righthand one with Americana "Sable Brown", and the lefthand one with Americana "Moon Yellow". I finished up by drybrushing the bow with some Americana "Bleached Sand", and lastly painted their bases Black.
When the Black on the bases was dry, I used some white glue to glue a little sand to the bases.  When this was dry, I painted the sand with the Black and then drybrushed the bases with some of the "Neutral Grey", and then some Americana "Dove Grey".
I let the figure dry overnight and the next day I gave them a coat of Americana "DuraClear Matte" varnish.  Another overnight dry, and I sprayed them with Testor's Dullcote".

I'm really happy with how these Undead Elves turned out.  I'm looking forward to getting a chance to throw them into a Frostgrave game.

Imrijka, Iconic Inquisitor : Bones II Figure

This past week I painted up the Imrijka, Iconic Inquisitor, figure from the Bones II Pathfinder Heroes set.   I believe this figure is supposed to represent a half-orc character, but I chose to paint it up as a half-elf female instead.  So, the first thing I did was very carefully try to slice off the fangs. What I couldn't get off with a hobby knife due to the cramped area under her hat, I hoped to disguise with paint.
I prepped the figure in the usual way; soaking it in a dish of water with a couple drops of dish-soap added, then giving it a light scrub with a soft toothbrush, and then rinsing and drying it.    I then glued the figure to a white-primed 1" fender washer with Aleene's Tacky glue, and then glued the washer-mounted figure to a tongue depressor with a couple drops of the Elmer's glue.
There was something about her outfit that read Old West Cowboy to me; so I decided I would go with that kind of earth-tone palette for this figure.
I began painting by doing all the figure's armor with Black; then when the Black was dry, I drybrushed the armor with Folk Art Metallics "Gunmetal Grey".  I then passed over the armor with a lighter drybrush of Folk Art "Silver Sterling".
Next, I painted her skin with Americana "Shading Flesh", and then painted her pants with Reaper MSP "Turkey Brown".  I then painted her bodice top with Americana "Bleached Sand", and then painted her loin cloth with Folk Art "Poppy Seed".  My next step was to paint her coat with Folk Art "Teddy Bear Brown".
I then painted her boot, pouch, and some of her belts with Americana "Asphaltum", and then I painted the tassel hanging along her left leg with Crafter's Acrylic "Navy Blue".   Next, I painted her hair with Accent "Mustard Seed", and then did her hat with Americana "Mississippi Mud". After that I worked on her weaponry: painting her bow with Crafter's Acrylic "Cinnamon Brown", her sword's sheath with Accent "Real Umber",  her quiver with  "Sable Brown", and lastly, the top and bottom trim on her quiver and the the grip on her sword with Americana "Bittersweet Chocolate".  I then painted all reamining belts, straps, and cords with Americana "Terra Cotta".
Next, I painted the metal parts of the weapons with Americana "Zinc".  I also used this color to paint the arrow fletchings. The round clasp on her should, which I planned to make gold metal, I painted with the "Mustard Seed".  I then went back and repainted all the weapon parts I had painted with the "Zinc", (except the fletchings) this time using Folk Art Metallics "Gunmetal Grey".  I also used this color to paint any buckles I could see.  I then I repainted the shoulder clasp, this time using Ceramcoat "Bronze".    Then, after everything had a while to dry, I gave the entire figure a wash using Citadel "Agrax Earthshade" wash using a wet brush.
I then painted her eyes and lips; and then highlighted all her skin with a mix of the "Shading Flesh" and some Crafter's Acrylic "Flesh".  After that, I highlighted her hair (and added eyebrows) with, first, Ceramcoat Maple Sugar Tan", and then, Apple Barrel "Lemon Chiffon".   I then highlighted her top with Crafter's Acrylic "Light Antique White".
Next, I drybrushed her hat with Americana "Khaki Tan", and then did highlghts on her jacket with Americana "Sable Brown".  After that, I highlighted her loin cloth with a mix of the base "poppy Seed" and Folk Art "Gray Green", and then I highlighted her pants with a mix of the original "Turkey Brown" and some of the "Khaki Tan".  I then did her boot highlights with Americana "Mississippi Mud", and highlighted the tassleon her left leg with Ceramcoat "Denim Blue.  I then added yellow stripes to it with Reaper MSP "Golden Glow".
I now worked on her belts and pouch, as well as her bow, highlighting them with Nicole's "Brown". After that, I highlighted all the leather straps and the wrist guards with Reaper MSP Pumpkin Orange". Next, I worked on the metallics. I first worked on the parts I had painted with the "Gunmetal Grey", highlighting them with Folk Art "Silver Sterling".  I then did the clasp I had painted "Bronze", highlighting it with Ceramcoat 14K Gold.
Lastly, I painted the base with White, and then glued some dried clear crackle paint "ice" to it.
When everything had overnight to dry, I gave the figure a coat of Ceramcoat "Matte Varnish" early the next morning.  That afternoon I "snowed" the base with a mix of Citadel "Vahallan Blizzard" textured paint, and regular White paint.   The next day I sprayed the figure with Testor's Dullcote. After the Dullcote was dry, I hit the ice with a little Americana "DuraClear Gloss" varnish.

I'm really happy with this figure.  I think the "Western" look came across well; and I'm particularly pleased with how her face turned out.  I have to say with me faces are a good deal of luck rather than skill.  I'm not good at painting those tiny details, but sometimes, like with this figure, my squinting stabs with paint turn out to be in just the right places. :)

Orc Snipers (Archers): Figures 212-215 of 266

This weekend I finished up the four Orc Sniper figures from the Orcpoclypse add-on set.   Ive got two more sets of four to go to complete this set.
I prepped these figures in the usual way,  washing them in some dish soap, lightly scrubbing them with a soft toothbrush,  and then letting them dry. I then did some conversions to them using Gorilla superglue gel. Looking at the row below; The first orc has his arm sliced at the shoulder and wrist, and repositioned back around to look like he is reaching for an arrow out of his quiver.  The second has had his arm sliced at the shoulder and repositioned down to look like he is reaching for his short sword.  The third and fourth orcs are unchanged.
After the conversions were done, I glued the four onto black primed 1.25 inch fender washers using Aleene's Tacky glue.  I then glued them onto a tongue depressor, for ease of painting, using a couple drops of Elmer's white glue each.
I began by painting them entirely Black; and then when the Black was dry, I drybrushed the chainmail areas with Folk Art Metallics "Gunmetal Grey".  I then went back and used the Black to repaint the fur areas where the "Gunmetal Grey" paint had gotten on them.
I then drybrushed the fur garments and the fur boot tops: for the first archer's fur tunic and the third archer's boot tops I used Americana "Zinc", for the second archer's fur tunic and the fourth archer's boot tops I used Crafter's Acrylic "Storm Cloud Grey", for the third archer's fur tunic and the first archer's boot tops I used Americana "Mississippi Mud", and for the fourth archer's fur tunic and the second archer's boot tops I used Folk Art "Dark Brown".  Next, I painted their under-tunics: for the first archer I used Ceramcoat "Black Cherry", for the second I used Crafter's Acrylic "African Violet", for the third one I used Americana "Bittersweet Chloclate", and for the fourth I used Crafter's Acrylic "Navy Blue".
I then did their skin with Aleene's "Deep Khaki".  Next, I did the belts and pouch on the first two, and the quiver and scabbard on the second two with Nicole's "Brown".  I then reversed this, doing the belts and pouch on the second two, and the quiver and scabbard on the first two with Crafter's Edition "Spice Brown".  I painted the padding on their wrist guards with Americana "Khaki Tan", and the straps, as well as the sword grips, with Americana "Asphaltum".  I then painted their bows with Crafter's Acrylic "Cinnamon Brown".
Next, I painted the fletchings on their arrows with Americana "Neutral Grey", and all the stitching on their belts, scabbards, quivers, and pouches with the "Khaki Tan".  I painted their teeth with GW "Bubonic Brown".  I then used the metallic "Gunmetal Grey" to paint all the metal fittings on their bows and short swords.   Then, after the paint had a while to dry, I gave the figures all a complete wash with GW "Agrax Earthshade" wash using a wet brush.
When the wash was dry, I painted their eyes, and then highlighted their teeth with Americana "Buttermilk". Next, I highlighted all their skin with a mix of the original "Deep Khaki" mixed with a little Aleene's "Dusty Khaki" . I also highlighted each of their tunics with the original colors I had used.  I highlighted their belts with Americana "Sable Brown", and hit the stitching again with the "Khaki Tan".  I then repainted their boots Black, and then added highlights with the "Neutral Grey".   Lastly, I painted their sculpted bases with Ceramcoat "Walnut".
After everything had dried overnight, I gave the figures a coat of Ceramcoat "Matte Varnish" and, when dry, flocked their bases.  Another overnight dry, and I sprayed them with Testor's Dullcote".
Though there's nothing extraordinary about them, I'm generally pleased with how they came out.  I'm looking forward to seeing how the whole group of orcs looks set out toghether, including the ones from the original 30 New Bones set, when I finally get this set complete.

Figures 212-215: Complete
